A young man kills a man who did wrong to his girl. Because of his crime the guy will get a punishment. The story is from Dostojevsky's famous novel but it's set in 1980's Finland. Not a bad idea though.

This was Aki Kaurismäki's first (feature) movie, so it's far from a masterpiece. There is too much talk for a Kaurismäki movie. Still, the director has given the movie a bit of that auteurism which made him later very famous.
