Mr. Loiri is well-known from his songs, which are based on the poems by Eino Leino. Lately he has sung also songs written by the late Juha "Watt" Vainio. Vesa-Matti Loiri started as a child star in the movie called Pojat (1962). Among that he has had many serious roles but he is still better know as 'Numbskull Emptybrook' (Uuno Turhapuro) from Spede Pasanen's comedies under that same name.

Mr. Loiri is a physical comedian which earlier brought him a title "The best faller of Finland". He was married with actress Tuula Nyman. His daughter Jenny is also an actress.
