As young Mr. Salminen played often humble, good-hearted men. It was not only his charming looks why he got so many leading roles but also his talent. He is still a popular star of many films and tv series (for example a hospital serie Ihmeidentekijät).

Mr. Salminen is married with actress Aino Seppo. They have a daughter called Sonja. Mr. Salminen has another daughter with his ex-wife Riikka Korppi-Tommola and a son (Kristo) with his another ex-wife Heidi Krohn. He was also married with actress Rose-Marie Precht but they have no children together.
