A man, who started his career in theatre 1927. Brother of actor Aarne Laine. Edvin Laine was a strong, Orson Welles-like actor. As a director Mr. Laine was more a man of drama than a man of comedy. In his best movies he shows common people trying to survive through hard times.

Mr. Laine continued directing 'till the mid 1980's.
