Åke Lindman

ENG: A tough looking and tall guy with blond hair. He used to play villains until he wanted to change his imago (people thought that he really was evil). Mr. Lindman became a notable director after his acting career. In 2008 he won his third Jussi prize (Finnish Oscars), a special Jussi from his work for Finnish film industry. Then, after working in about 80 movies during his lifetime, he wanted to retire. At that point his last movie was Tali-Ihantala 1944, which he both directed and produced. Mr. Lindman was husband of singer actress Pirkko Mannola.
FIN: Kivikasvoinen Lindman sai usein näytellä roistoa uransa alkuaikoina. Kun imagosta alkoi tulla hänelle rasite, hän hakeutui esittämään muita rooleja. Lindman siirtyi näyttelemisestä ohjaamiseen. Vuonna 2008 hän voitti kolmannen Jussinsa, työstään kotimaisen elokuvan parissa. Samalla hän ilmoitti jäävänsä eläkkeelle, joten hänen viimeinen ohjauksensa oli sitä myötä elokuva Tali-Ihantala 1944. Lindman myös tuotti kyseisen elokuvan. Lindman oli naimisissa laulaja-näyttelijä Pirkko Mannolan kanssa.
