A story about a painter who thinks that he has lost his feelings because he washes his hands with turpentine (a rumour says that turpentine goes trough the skin into the brains and kill cells which we need to have emotions). The painter tries to feel, but nothing happends.

The whole film is warm and gentle. Kai Lehtinen is a just right man to play the main character, a little bit slow painter. The name of the movie comes partly from King Midas, who had an ability (a curse) to made gold with his touch.
