A rich, young and beutiful widow falls in love with a young swordsman. There's also other men, poor upper class people, who are interested into Katarina. They try to do everything to win her heart.

Oldish costume drama. Eeva-Kaarina Volanen is beautiful as usually and the milieu is nice. Jalmari Rinne as poor but highly respected Mr. Cajalen is the funny guy in this movie. He is overacting but perhaps somebody likes that.

TRIVIA: The original play (which was written by Serp) was a big success in the late 40's. In the stage version actress Ansa Ikonen played Katarina.
