Pekka Valinto (Petteri Summanen) was a praised surgeon until somebody shot him into his head. One year after this he wakes up from his coma. Was somebody trying to kill him? Is that somebody going to try it again? Who wants anything bad for him and why?

As a thriller Blackout is full of good twists and thrilling moments. It has a lot of potential but in the end it seems to have too much of material after all. JP Siili is still a young director and learning. The cast makes the movie enjoyable to watch. Some would say the casting is strange, because for example Jenni Banerjee is not the most obvious choice in the role of a policewoman. But in this way the movie can surpise.
